Basic Function and Responsibility: Facilitates teacher-provided academic enrichment lessons and activities for Cub Club students in a safe, engaging afterschool environment. Provides supervision and classroom management while supporting student participation and positive behavior. Assists with transitions, materials and daily program routines.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid Texas educational aide certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to work well with children
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Ability to assist in instructing reading, writing, and mathematics
Experience:
- 3+ years experience working with elementary aged children
Criminal Record:
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check

Instructional Support:
- Provide instruction to students; work with individual students or small groups.
- Help maintain a neat and orderly classroom.
- Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
- Help keep records and prepare required reports.
Student Management:
- Help supervise students throughout the afterschool program, inside and outside the classroom, including playground, and other related activities
- Keep Site Coordinator informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
Professional Effectiveness:
- Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
- Participate in staff development training programs, faculty meetings, and special events as assigned.
- Follow district policies and procedures pertaining to the job assignment.

Working Conditions:
- Tools/Equipment Used: Computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
- Posture: Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
- Motion: Frequent walking
- Lifting: Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may lift and move textbooks and classroom equipment (up to 45 pounds)
- Environment: Work inside, may work outside; regular exposure to noise
