Child Nutrition Receptionist Reports to: Director for Child Nutrition Director
Qualifications: Two years school food service experience or related experience High School diploma or GED or higher
Essential Job Functions: 1. Ability to communicate well with parents, school/program staff, vendors, and the general public 2.Provides technical assistance to director, school managers, and staff to implement program goals and objectives 3. Coordinates individual school reports to assist in compilation for reimbursement 4. Ability to learn the requirements of the Child Nutrition Program 5. Assists managers in menu planning to ensure that all meals served meet USDA standards 6. Participates in the free and reduced price meal applications and collections procedures process 7. Communicates with the director on a continual basis the findings, problems and successes observed in individual schools and documents findings 8. Participates in planning, preparation, delivery, and clean-up of catering activities 9. Assists in developing and implementing professional growth and certification activities for staff 10. Responsible for social media for the department 11. Assists in new employee orientation 12. Assists in the management of accurate personnel data 13. Provides assistance to the cafeteria managers 14. Monitors working conditions in all facilities and recommends methods for increasing efficiency 15. Works with students to help increase participation. 16. Assists in planning and conducting staff meetings and workshops for food service personnel 17. Competent in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Google 18. Must have a sanitation certification within the first year. 19. Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by director
Requirements: High School diploma Must be proficient in Excel, Word, Power point and Google Must have strong customer service skills Must be able to communicate with students, staff and parents. Must have the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines Must be able to take instructions from multiple people Must be available to attend trainings as needed. Must be flexible and able to work after hours for events Must be able to lift OVER 15 pounds
Must be able to bend and lift over head Must be able to be on feet for 8 hours in a day Must be able to work for multiple hours in freezer
